Sunday School
–
Island Lutheran Church believes that
our year around
Sunday School is an important aspect of a child’s faith
development. Sunday School is a place to get to know Jesus Christ,
learn the Bible and build friendships. Our church believes that
the way to eternal life is through our Lord Jesus
Learning the Bible is an important phase of Sunday School. We cover many of the major stories in the Bible through song, crafts, story telling and games. Sunday School Hour begins at 9:50 a.m. for both youth and adults. The singing begins with Song Director, Judy Crimm. Birthdays of youth and adults are recognized, as well as anniversaries and other special events in the lives of our members and guests. We have a good time, young and old, as we praise our God. At 10:00 the youth and their teachers move to their classrooms with adult Sunday School continuing in Graudin Hall.

Youth
- Our youth group, 7th grade through high school, is
committed to building a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ that
gives us eternal life. With the power of the Holy Spirit, we come to
know Jesus as a person that we can talk to, a person we love, a person
who lived the perfect life and died on a cross for our sins. Our youth
get to know each other. We meet on a regular basis throughout the
school year and periodically in the summ Our current youth missions: We have a close relationship with P.E.P. (Programs For Exceptional People). P.E.P. provides assistance for mentally challenged adults. Each year we hold the P.E.P. Prom for these exceptional adults. The youth will again travel to Indiana to volunteer at HandyCamp the summer of 2008. HandyCamp is for mentally challenging adults where our youth worked on a one on one basis, 24 hours a day for one week. It’s a favorite mission for our youth.
